thanks so much for these videos. they've been a HUGE help in our tiny house build. i have 2 questions: our tiny house has a shed roof — what kind of flashing do you use to finish the end of the higher wall of a shed roof? also, how do you finish the edge of a roof that's not square? one of the short sides of our tiny house comes to a point, so we have 5 walls instead of 4, and we won't have a continuous line of rib to affix gable flashing to. hope that makes sense! haha.

We're building our tiny house in Utah and we're going to be installing onduvilla roofing very soon. It's corrugated just like this metal roofing you're using, but it's made out of asphalt with a fiber mat core. They sell the gasket to go under the edge of the corrugated shingles, but they have the option for a ventilated gasket. It has what looks like pencil holes in it. In what instances would you want to ventilate underneath your shingles like that? I need to figure out which gasket to order.

No housewrap? Particular reason, or just a cost saver in a mobile build?

How exactly did you waterproof under the dormer overhang where the flying rafter meets the ridge (shown at 9:14)? Thanks!

Is it listed anywhere how much this projects cost just to do this entire project? Would love to know as we are trying to sell our house and see if we can't build this to live in before the house sells.

Just curious y'all didn't want an over hang for obvious reasons, but is there away you could do a gutter system would it be light enough and would it work? or would it be just as good the way it is?

2 things. 1) When you are creating a cap with your drip edge, you always bend the bottom around before the top is bent down. This will keep rain water out. 2) You mention that you screwed the side of the drip because you will be towing this down the road. Wrong idea. The metal has to expand and contract. screwing it down in both directions will contort the metal when it heats up. And also, the roofing should absolutely be able to withstand much higher winds in any condition than you can create towing it down the road… You sure won't be towing it down the road in huge winds. It would be too unsafe to control the vehicles.

I have asked many builders this question since been in America.. Why don't you paint / stain your boards underneath that roof flashing. ( facia boards I think ) I mean its just bare timber  & some timber protection is better than nothing over time.??

I like the way that you not only say what to do, but why you are doing it. I plan on building a small house, but putting it on a foundation instead of a trailer.

Enjoyed the video. I am going to be doing a standing seam concealed fastener roof on my home this spring, so it was nice to see some inside tips. Who makes the steel you guys used, ABC? My roof has a tapered gable end (tapers back from the peak to the eve) what would you suggest for getting your first panel square on a roof like this?

Thanks for the info! Loving your videos 🙂 I'll be starting my Tiny House build soon and I'm going to have a shed style roof (lean to). A question that I hope you can answer, how would I cap off the top? I'm guessing I'll do the bottom section the same as yours, but I won't have the peak like you do. Thanks! I can't wait for the next video!!!
